too busy doing...
sometimes i feel like i'm too busy doing life to actually live it. this month has been an absolute mess... looking for an apartment and going skiing in upstate new york and come back in this huge blizzard and going down to baltimore and come back and moving in and not so great news on my dad's case... for the first time in a long time i feel honestly and truly run down (or maybe run over is a better phrase)...

BUT (prepare for silver lining!) a vast majority of it is over now... almost all moved in, trips to new york and baltimore completed and were actually loads of fun (yeah skiing), and some decisions have been made. all in all, a very productive month.

so i finished stupid white men. i have to say i enjoyed certain chapters more than others, with my favorites being Dear George (and open letter to you know who), Kill Whitey(guess), and Democrats, DOA (about the so called "liberal" party and how they're really just Republicans in disguise).

looking back over the book i wish i'd recorded more books i the L to the J. out of the last chapter, this is the one that struck me:

"The day his daughter came out of the closet was at least one day Dick Cheney stopped being a fat-cat Republican and responded like a human being and a father. When it hits home, it's very hard to keep acting like and asshole."

not particularly scathing or witty, just true.

waaaa!!
RANT ON!!

i have yahoo mail, and as such my mail reading life is filled with something that truly fills the void in my life (several, actually): splash adds.

the latest and greatest, an add for vonage, a company which i can only assume does VoIP services becuase the adds main text is: "DOWN WITH UNPREDICTABLE PHONE BILLS" with subtext "unlimited local & long distance calling through your broadband connection"

none of this is all that remarkable. the image associated with this link shows this guy, who to me looks like a cross between Paul Schaeffer (bald head and all) and Deeter from SNL, kicking. yes, just kicking, kung fu style.

WAAAA!!!

is he kicking the unpredictable phone bills, beating them down with his kung fu. is Paul Deeter taking it to those phone bills, asian style. boot to the curb! gah... the fuckin wannabe art-deco yuppie looks like he's probably pulling a muscle...
